Insider Tip: Water, more water, proper shoes, and sunscreen are essential.
- Camelback Mountain - the Valley’s most famous landmark is also the most challenging hike. If you have what it takes to ascend 1,420 feet to the top, you’ll be rewarded with the best views in the city. Insider Tip: Cholla Trail is the less strenuous of the two trails (but still very difficult) and is closer to the hotel.
- McDowell Sonoran Preserve – located 20 minutes outside of the city, the 30,500 acre preserve has five major trailheads to choose from. Insider Tip: at 4.5 miles, the Gateway Loop Trail is a leisurely hike that only gains 680 feet in elevation.
- Papago Park – Drive 10 minutes south of the hotel to explore the red butte formations at Papago Park. Trails here have little elevation gain and are best suited for those looking for more of a scenic walk. Insider Tip: catch a sunset from the famous Hole-In-The-Rock formation to see spectacular views of downtown Phoenix.
